Have an '02 ram, 4.7, quad cab, 4x4, but I found an '06 dak, 6-speed with the hemi motor in it. They're asking $17,000 for it, which i thought wasn't bad. But I just got my truck, owe like $13,200 on it. I'm trying to budget all this out. How good on gas is the dak with a 6-speed and a hemi?

 

Baracis, the ad or the seller is misinforming you, there is no hemi in the Dakota. The two engine options are the 3.7L V6, or the same 4.7L V8 thats in your current ram.

Personally, I would stick with the 02 ram.

 

Gas with the '06 6sp won't be as bad as it is with the Ram...if you take it easy. I shift at low RPM and speed up slowly and am able to get 18.5 mpg, minimum, per tank. I can't imagine you get that on the Ram.

However, if you're under on the Ram loan, it isn't that big of an improvement, and might not be worth it...

yeah, sounds like someone is pulling one over on you, or they don't know what they are selling. Either way not trust worthy
