Got to putzing around on Ebay and saw this "insurance loss" Dakota for 5500. Take a look at the picture of this thing. How much do you guys think this would cost to fix?

Says in thedescription thatthe passenger left his smokes in the glovebox and they weren't out. What a moron, why would you even leave a burnt cigarette in the glovebox to begin with? If that was my truck and my passenger was smoking (which I don't allow) I would of whooped his *** for that.
Funny nicknames: Crispykota, Burntkota, and Kentucky Fried Kota!

At the very least you're looking at new dash panel, new door panel, new A pillar panel, possibly new radio and HVAC controls, new carpet, probably have to replace the headliner. All the wiring in that section will be toast and some of the HVAC ducting too along with the blower box. Might be a good prospect for someone looking to do a full custom dash setup but to bring it back to stock doesn't look like it'd be cheap unless you can con someone for acheap full dash assembly and everything behind it out of a junkyard Dak

how can that be an insurance loss, when your truck was rolled over flipped over and what not, altair. sounds like a scam.

I am just wondering what else he had in his glove box that would have caught on fire enough to melt that whole half of the dash like that. I am assuming at least the owners manual was in there but there had to be quite a bit more combustibles in there to keep it going enough to melt through the plastic.
