Hypermilage Attempt
Awesome results! That's better than I average in my friends Monte Carlo!
And to think, I'm gonna take the cruise control off my truck. Of course, I hardly use it when I did drive it on the highway, and where the parts go on the firewall is a great area for me to put a remotedual oil filterrelocation kit. (Much better than how I have my single-filter relocation kit at right now, which is on the passenger side fender just in front of the PCM)

I definitely think I will be buying a cruise kit soon.

I just got right at 25mpg, but my speedo is about 10mph off due to tires, so it is actually higher than that. Ive been crusing at 55mph which the gps says is 65mph. and thas about 1700rpms
Nice Turbo...25 MPG is definitely achievable with 3G Daks.
I'm coming up on a half tank, and not doing quite as well as last time. I might be hard pressed to get 420 miles out of this tank again, but I'll do my best. It's getting hot here, so I'm using alot more AC, and I can't avoid the short trips that hurt the mileage. We'll see how it goes.

Another update...
380 miles so far on this tank, probably 20-40 miles until the fuel light comes on. Hoping for 24+ MPG this time around.
I think for the area I live in, and my commute, 25 MPG is about as good as I can do. With gas holding (for now) at $3.71, I'm perfectly fine adding 10 minutes to my commute. Plus, less tire, brake and clutch wear.

haha, I remember when you guys all called me out saying that 22 was not possible and that these trucks are pigs... not look, we have a guy almost hit 26...
I am thrilled that you got that type of mileage out of that tank. I am guessing that the next couple will be a little better. Its not going to be a holiday week/weekend so traffic should be less in "off rush hour traffic"
I am pulling for ya.
as a side note... if you are running a power wire, pull it. it makes you run a little more rich, thus reducing the best possible MPG's. (more gas cant help. lol)

No power wire for me. Definitely not good for mileage. The only non-driver mods to my truck are slightly over pressure tires (40 LBS) and a Flowmaster 40 muffler.
390 miles this morning, no gas light yet.

It's been a while since I've updated on my hypermilage effort, largely due to the site being messed up.
Long story short, proving I could get 25 MPG was cool, but I, and the truck, are much happier cruising at 65-70 and shifting in the mid 2000 RPM's. Especially with the summer heat and the drag the AC compressor puts on the engine, everything's smoother running a bit higher in the power band.
That being said, I'm still getting over 22 MPG with every tank. Two tanks were over 23. I think it's a decent compromise between the MPG and comfortable driving. When I don't need A/C anymore I'll make another push for 26 MPG territory.
23+ MPG is great for a truck, but I'm still motorcycle shopping
