High Gas?? Feel better post
To all my American friends,
Just thought I would try and make you feel a little better. Here is Canada, we produce more oil than we use in a single day. We have the worlds largest proven oil reserves now. We are the only country in the situation of being oil rich that pays through the nose. Just how bad is it???
Well, 1 US GALLON equals 3.79 litres. We buy our gas in litres. The average price per litre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is $1.36 per litre. That means, we are paying $5.15 PER GALLON of Gas. Remember, we are oil rich like the Saudis. Hopefully, that makes the pain of the big **** ramming you in the butt a little less sore.
Feeling your pain, hoping some are now feeling mine.

Well, Taxes. Both the Federal and Provincial level. Then when ppl complain about that, they blame the American wholesale market. lol, its just crazy. Your right about the laungage too, however, I think that is clearly whats going on!!! I am educated enough to know, its not the government. Its Wall street and Bay Street. Its these damn pension investors, fortune 500 companies, all jumping in, driving up oil, to make buck.
Yeah, see, I work in the Hotel industry, and that really is a big sticking point for us. We love our rubber traffic from the US, but the damn exchange rates are ripoff's. Most places in Toronto are good now, but for months, americans were getting HOSED.
Two words - crippling inflation. Gas is high everywhere, but rising here at double the rate of the Europeans. If you need more proof, Anheuser-Busch was just sold to a Euro-company because the value of a dollor is so low. If this can happen to A-B, it can happen to ANY company. We are all very sad in St. Louis. Thank you GWB and our inept congress. Gas prices don't affect the rich, yet. I've been a republican my entire life....but please vote for Obama.
Obama? Then we can be socialists like Canada and Europe with higher fuel taxes, i.e. $6 to $9 per gallon gas.

Edsham, we wouldn't be socilists. We would have a country that would be respected again. We would have an economy that wasn't being depleated for the all mighty war-machine, a.k.a, Bush's Vietnam. I mean really...what the hell are we still doing there? And we wouldn't be paying for the special interests and oil lobbys that Bush and his cronies support. Are kidding me? He just, today, released the ban on off-shore drilling? Why? It isn't going to make a bit of difference at the pump. Does he truely think that the cos. can just snap their fingers and.."wha-la", crude is gas! He is a joke. What he needs to do is tell his best friends, the CEOs of the oil companies, to take control of their companies and their stock makrlet spectulators. They are the ones who are using scare tactics on Wall Street and abroad dring the prices up because of hurricane weather (that hasn't happened yet...are they weather forecasters), the War, etc.
Sorry for the rant, but that JA in the White House will not do a damn thing since he is a lame-duck President who could really give a crap. All he cares about now are his horses and in Crawford.

I'll bet you we're paying more than $5 per gallon in four years, no matter who is president.
I'm doing my part by driving faster and paying all my bills at the drive-thru instead of using a .42 cent stamp.
Hopefully gas will keep going up (as if any commodity ever decreases in price!) until there are more folks on the internet and less on MY roads.
Even on my days off like today, I start my truck and my van and let them idle all day just to waste gas. HaHaHaHa.
As long as we're the only country in the world where people use pickups for personal transportation we should be paying the highest prices for gas.
No, seriously, I just get so tired of hearing hypocriticle? Americans complain about having the lowest gas prices in the industrialized world.
Yes I am American and I take care of myself and don't want the government involved in anything but national security and I'm damn glad to be back
here after living 15 years in Germany where the government takes all your money and then spreads it around nice and evenly so everybody (including the unemployed) has health insurance and everybody can drive on the best roads in the world and nobody, especially business owners, has any incentive to work harder or expand their business, because they just go into a higher tax bracket, with no net gain.
By the way, their inflation and unemployment rate is almost triple ours.
Since I'm playing Nostradamus I also predict that when or if we ever leave Iraq, our gas prices will still continue to go up.
