Update!!!! I replaced the gasket on the exhaust manifold and the tick went away!!! Broke 1 bolt but was able to remove it easily so no real swearing or wall punching.
All is good again.

glad to hear that because I have what appears to be the same thing.
I'll let it go for a while until it gets worse, should it get worse.
Maybe I'll throw some headers on there at the same time.... hmmmm...
