Painting front bumper Ques?
Hey guys,
I just purchased a 2005 dakota a couple weeks ago and absolutely love the truck. The only thing I would like to change is the stock carbon colored front bumper while the rest of the truck is white.
Any ideas/suggestions on painting it to white? Could it be something easy for me to do myself?
Thanks, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I don't think you can paint the non-painted factory bumper. I am talking about the front one.
(Anyone correct me if I am wrong, cause im not 100% sure)
I thought I heard that you cant just prime and paint a ST unpainted bumper. Something about the material? I know that someone on the forum has a body shop get the paintable bumper's and have them painted and installed, for cheap.
I have an 06 ST, my front bumper is gray and not painted, I would like to know this as well.

Thanks for the help guys... I have come to the conclusion that I will probably buy the paintable bumper, and was wondering if one of you could link to a some of your favorite websites where I could find a cheap one, along with other accesories.

It takes time to sand and wet sand, and then hit with pre-sol and sand again.... they have to work through the porous part of the bumper... but after the prep work, its just like painting a fiberglass bumper... ad in flex agents and paint...
the fact that someone said you cant paint a plastic bumper kinda made me laugh a little... urethane flexes more than plastic...
