sad day oh man
oh fuken gay as hell that means ive been getting bad gas wtf i only get 93 god damit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! my truck the day before was acting really strange too it was bogging bad- felt like it didnt want to move- but it was also 95 100% humid and i had the ac on.... dont know that really pisses me off tho- oh and its the knock sensor sorry.
The engine light came on because the knock sensor is defective right? It doesnt mean your gas is bad. The knock sensor is used to detect knock due to fuel spontaniously igniting in other non-intended areas of the chamber. This creates a knock, the sensor detects it, and retards timing so the engine doesnt get damaged. It's like if your running anything lower then 87 in your truck, you might expect this...
The check engine light came on because the sensor is broken, right? It's not detecting a knock...(or is it?) You said the mechanic said the sensor was bad. So that doesnt really have anything to do with the gas in your tank.
UNLESS your mechanic means it threw a code due to knock, thats a different story...does our truck even do that though?
If you are knocking, on 93 octane, maybe it has to do with the jet stage 2 re-programing for optimum performance on 93?
(but by what your saying, it sounds like your sensor went, not that the sensor detected a knock.)
Good Luck.

yeah didnt get it back today, yeah the mechanic at dodge said the sensor went bad- i always run 93 and i mean always, so idk- ive had the jet chip in there for about a year now so idk why it would be detecting that now.........
Yeah its not the JET chip. What I meant was, if the tech said the sensor is bad, the sensor needs to be replaced. So the fuel you use is not bad.
If he said that the sensor was detecting a knock then it would be a fuel problem.
hopefully the sensor is just shot.

Ive never heard of one going bad either.......lol.
I guess you never know with this truck. Stuts are shot out of the factory, half of them tick from broken manifold bolts or lifter clearance right out of the factory. Power steering racks go in 2 years. plastic e-brake release lever brakes in 2 years (yup, it happened to me). You gotta find your own spark plug to make it run right. Had my clock spring replaced int he steering wheel, had my intermidient steering shaft replaced. Had my ECU replaced at 10,000 cause nothing happened half the time when i went to start her up.
This truck is SWEET MAN!
