05 Dodge Dakota that needs engine work, no reserve.

Seems like all is well but the motor.
This could be a pretty decent buy depending on how high the bid goes.

looks like he didn't get the tsb 09-007-06 (intake valves and locks) done under warranty.
it says in his question and answer at the bottom that it has a bad valve. mike

Man I havnt had anything like that done on my 3.7L....everything is fine, it cant just pop up out of no where......can it?? (jaws theme plays)

my guess is it degrades over time depending on variables such as driving style? but who knows?
mine has been like this since at least7000-8000 miles and i now have 25,000 on it. it really isn't a big bother just a little tick at hot low idle with the ac off. but i plan on keeping the rig 10+ years so i would like to eliminate known road blocks early.
i would say it just doesn't hit you,but must go on for a while. example above made it 92,000 miles before something had to be done. and the truck above looks ruff. so i would say somebody who takes care of their truck may never burn the valve? just guessing! mike
