Default Hypertech

I see Hypertech released a programmer for the '08 4.7 Dakotas. Congrats to the '08 guys but it pisses me of there still isn't one for the 05'-07's. I read this on another board and it was a guy from Hypertech that wrote it. I checked their website and sure enough, there is one listed for the 08' Daks. He said Hypertech was going to release a programmer for the 05'-07's "soon", whatever that means. I hope soon really means soon!

You read that somebody from Hypertech said a programmer for our '05-'07 Daks would be available "soon"? Not to rain on your parade but that is a crock of BS. I have been after Superchips and Hypertech for almost 2 years now, most recently in the past month and it's the same broken record "no plans to develope and produce due to not enough interest". And that is straight from their R&D guys over the phone. Sorry, not gonna happen.

luv, it may not a crock. I was told by Hypertech that they will be releasing a program for the 05-07 in a month or so. So, it sounds like conflicted info. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I tell you this if they do I'll not only have a ScanGuage 2 waiting for my return but also a Hypertech. I can only hope. I saw that it got about 40 more hp for the 08 any guesses what it would get on the 05-07?

If Hypertech does come out with a programmer for us, I'm betting there will be a lot of used Jet chips for sale.

Why would they release a mod for the '08 first? They already have over 300 hp and you know there won't be as many Dakotas sold in the next three years as there were from '05-'07.
As soon as one of you '08 owners total your truck, call me. I want a dual plug 300hp 4.7 in front of my Getrag!

Looks like luvmydak is right.

I emailed Hypertech tech support asking about the 05-07's. Here is the response:

"It is true that we released the 08 4.7L Dodge programmer. We do have plans to revisit the 05-07 4.7L but do not have a release date at this time."

Plans to revisit? Not too encouraging I must say.
