My old ranger was a blast in the snow, but this will be my first year with the HO Dak. 4-wheel power drifts, here I come.

How much weight do you guys put in the back for Winter traction? Do you leave your bed cover on or take it off for the cold and snow?

Surprisingly, last yr I didnt put any weight in it and the truck did fine, of course I was in play mode so having weight would just have killed that Any other time I have put like 4 sandbags in, but that was for my 2wd

I have always left the tonneau on, I usually just watched so there wasnt massive amount of snow collecting on it. althoughm its pretty cool when you are going down the road and a huge chunk of snow the size of the box flies off My tonneau having the snaps, has dual settings, which you just rotate the clips for winter mode or summer mode. It basically loosens of tightens the cover for the change in expansion or contraction of the cover due to temps.

I have a roll n lock on mine, keep it on and also keep it clear in the winter. I also don't put any additional weight in it. when bad enough 4x4 works great.

Bolt be careful with snow flying off, If you hit another car and do damage your responsible. personally I hat driving down the road behind someone and snow is flying off.

I couldn't agree with you more. That is one of my biggest pet-peeves. People who don't clean the snow off are simply lazy. JMO.

yeah i have always been they guy to get all the snow off his car/truck. i honestly keep the truck in 2wd 95% of the time here in colorado and then when i need to, just throw it in 4x4. where my dad's volvo xc70 awd couldn't make it, i made it in 2wd just fine lol. you just gotta know how much love to give it and not just sit there and romp on it

yup i agree my mom slides w/ her x5 in snow (its awd) but i dont in 2wd and in 2wd i drove around a couple of subarus in the snow last year just a matter of knowing how to drive in the snow not necessarily the vehicle you have (although a heavey 4x4 does make GOING easier) o and ya just need to keep in mind that 4 wd drive does NOT mean 4 wheel stop a little something my parents rammed into my head early

yeah in reference to the 4 wheel stop thing, that is for damn sure. like some people who drive trucks/suvs (of the traditional 4wd nature, not the gay awds) think they are invicible. which as we all know, they are not...
