Out of Alignment or Road Crown?
I had the same problem, an alignment cured it. You don't want to worry about saving those tires they are a death trap. I am surprised someone hasn't filed a law suite against Goodyear! You will be amazed what a new set of tires will do for you.
I picked up the truck today, with some very nice looking National Commando (lol) 265/70 16's mounted. They look great, just a little upgrade in size fills the wheel wells out nicely. Pics are on the way, but the weather/lighting was completely awful by the time I got the truck. I'll snap a few tomorrow.
A few initial impressions after running some errands in some pretty nasty weather this evening :
- Rolling resistance is noticeably higher. The truck slows down more quickly when coasting, and combined with the larger radius, 50-60 MPH is best suited to 5th gear (about 1900 RPM). I'm going to dial the tire pressure up a little from the 32# the shop put in, and see what happens.
-The tires grip way, way, way better than stock. I didn't want to go out and start spinning my brand new tires, but spirited 1st gear launches and 2nd gear roll-ons in slush couldn't get the rear end loose. So nice. I could ride 1 leggers well into 2nd with the SR-A's.
- An alignment is still in order. The new rubber is better, but still pulls a bit to the right. Oh well.
Overall very positive after about 40 miles.

Haha thanks, I was on the way out to lunch and figured I should make good on my word. I also swung into the garage at work and put about 5# more on each corner, up to 37# or 40# depending on which gauge I used, which helped the rolling resistance. They're sidewall rated to 44#, but the tire shop owner said they will quickly wear the centers down at that pressure.
Now all I need is some real snow...had a snowy last week in CNY but now it's 36 and rainy. *****.

My '05 4x4 has always pulled to the right. Have had it checked twice and the shop says it's right on for alignment. Still running the original tires, (truck only has 8100 miles on it.) I only use my truck for hunting and metal detecting.
