Default RE: WARRANTY QUESTIONS...... READ THIS!!

The General Motors Corporation is VERY strict about Warranty issues.

I work for DaimlerChrysler/Starr Motors and My friend works for GM/Duke Automotive
Suffolk, VA
so i compare alot all the time.

we are very leaniant about warranty issues. - but some dealerships are very careful...
i work for a 5-star certified dealership and we are very confident and secure with everything .

i just replaced front and rear diffs on a jeep rubicon WITH 38.5" Mickey Thompsons!! 9" lift
ALL Covered under warranty
them diffs were F-ed up!
Chunks of metal...
mud all over jeep
looked like it was in a Mud bog fest...
but we covered it under warranty......
not the best pay rate for me... but does keep cust happy...
but like if a truck comes in for a tranny rebuild-states cust. under warranty. and i open it up and i see B&M plates and holes drilled in valve body.... Sorryyyyy - you know...

GM voids powertrain completely if aftermarket CAI is installed, tranny, transfer case everything... - Says CAUSES Excessive Stress on Drivetrain Components.... BS

Ford i hear is the same way

I completely agree that a Dodge owner's best bet to get a questionable warranty problem covered,
is to find a Dealership with a philosophy of treating people right,
and applying "The Golden Rule".

Your second best option is to get the Chrysler Regional Representative involved, especially if he is a 'Golden Rule' type person...which the majority are.

Far worst in third place
is to go to county small claims court.

If you look or talk like a street racer
and the small claims judge is a woman,
you might as well give up...or perhaps get your
wife/girlfriend/sister/mother to be the one to show up in court and argue your side with as many pictures as possible

I thought that law or act was to prevent dealerships from denying warranty if you use a Puralator oil filter instead of the official mopar. This protects the consumer from being forced to use the dealers parts and service. I don't think it covers things like lift kits and leveling kits, cold air intakes and other things. Those actually alter the design and original intent of the product, being a dakota. In that case, they can void any related failed part.

So, if you put a leveling kit on, they WILL and CAN deny struts, ball joints, rack, steering components, control arms, end links, etc.

Now if you put rancho shocks on your truck instead of MOPAR dealer shocks, THEN the act covers you.

Alterations of initial design wont be covered. You cannot just say "the dealer will cover my truck with a lift kit because of the Mag act, because its an aftermarket part". Thats totally false.
