I am considering purchasing the factory foglight kit available for the trucks that did not come with fog lamps. My question is: do you have to have Dodge reflash the ECU for the kit to function after installation?...or is this a bolt-on-and-go type deal?

 

If I remember correctly from others who did it the dealer needs to plug in the starscan tool and tell the computer the fog lights are installed.

 

I just purchased a factory fog light kit online to install on my dak. I was stupid and didn't research anything before buying them, I thought when they came, I could just throw them in, wire 'em up and go. After closer inspection, it looks like I'm definitly gonna have to take it to a shop to have 'em installed, a little too over my head. And now to the dealer I guess if I need a reflash. I never knew there was such a thing for foglights.

I have the dash switch for trucks with the fog lights BRAND NEW that I would like to sell. I wanted to put the lights in my truck, but decided against it and now they won't let me return the switch. I'll sell it for $45 and ship it to you if you want it.

 

will the switch fit an 05 RAM 1500??
