Thumbs down UPDATE: Big Problem

Okay finally after about 4hrs of working on my vehicle today the dealership gets back to me with what they believe is wrong with my truck. I am told that they think that an SCM is the problem. I am unable to even find such a part for my vehicle on the internet so I am wondering if he maybe meant the PCM. I was quoted $670 for the part alone without labor costs to install the SOB and it will apparently take 5 days just to get the damned thing.

Honestly this is a crock of crap. There is no reason that on a truck which is barely two years old that a major computer component should be totally crapping out. My truck has 44k miles on it now too so that means Dodge probably is going to tell me to shove it and foot the bill myself.

Right about now I would love nothing more than to get rid of this thing... I bought a new vehicle to avoid problems, and buried myself further in debt on top of school loans on something that I am now probably going to have to pay to fix. Wonderful... it's my fault I bought it it would just be nice to own something reliable for once.

First off, relax! You are going to give yourself a coronary. Second, on my previous '06, the PCM went on my truck. It was coding a malfunctioning sensor and a brake code. PCMs do fail. Remember it is just a POS computer. Any number of things could've caused it.

However, I understand your frustration. Fortunately, my was covered. Maybe you can work something out with them.
