I had the same problem on my way to Oklahoma recently when I had a flat on the back. No tools that I had did any good and kicking it (I'm 150 lbs) didn't help. When I started walking to a gas station, some oil field workers stopped to help. One of them (300 lbs or more) gave it a kick and the wheel came right off the axle flange. When I got back home I sprayed both read axle flanges with WD-40. NO problem any more.

spray it with PB blaster or WD40, then alternate kicking the crap out of it from top to bottom and side to side, it will come off.

Haha, where are you now? I'm guessing the Northeast?

Glad you got the situation handled.
