Question Need help! Looking to buy a Dakota

I'm looking to buy a used 2007 Dakota 4.7L CC 2wd. Can anyone tell me how to determine if the truck has a 5 speed or 4speed trans? Is it stamped anywhere or on a sticker somewhere? Thanks

make sure you try and get the extended warrenty, that year only comes with the 3/36 after that it is out of pocket.

Thanks for the info. Is there a sticker somewhere that would verify this? My Ram has a sticker that tells specs of the truck.

That's what I was afraid of, that both trans were available. Now I know how to verify at least. Thanks

But it does come with the lifetime powertrain warranty if purchased after July of 2007. I know because I have an '07 and purchased it as a left over in 1/08. I also got the 7/70 warranty.

If you bought your truck before July 26, 2007 the lifetime powertrain warranty does not apply. If you bought it on or after July 26, 2007, it does for all 2006, '07, '08 & '09 models.

Above is the link to the particulars on the lifetime warranty.
