Default Custom hood project!

Hey I was looking for some imput on my project. This is a really rough cardboard model. I want it to go smooth with the hood at the back and kind flare out on the sides compared to what it is now.

Well if a big one is for you then go for it, I do think its a bit big but only a rough model right? What would you be making it out of?

Did you want something like this? or is this too small for you?

Yeah after I built the rough model I realized it is a little big. I am going for the look of the R/T version. Plus I am going to put the nightrider light kit in it. I am going to work on a final version tomorrow. I built this one in about a hour. The final one that will go on the hood will be made out of 1/8in sheet metal.

I would try to curve the sides a bit and follow the contour lines of the hood (look towards the outer edges in the straight on pic), I think that would make it flow with the truck better.

i think it would be a great looking hood scoop if it was molded into the hood and was smoothed. but i like it.

Yeah the top of the scoop is going to be no bigger than the 2 closest lines for the center of the hood and the sides of the scoop are going to extended to the 2 out lines. The front of the scoop is going to be 3inches and slope back smooth with the hood. I am going to use body filler to smooth the edges. And i love the excitement Frenchy thanks really lol.

yea its ok just ignore frenchy, hes special(in a short bus kinda way )

i think it will look good as long as you follow existing body lines, like parallel the shape of the hood, go for it and then post up pics of the finished project

As long as it looks like it belongs keeping that in mind with your design, it should look great.

As long as it doesn't look out of place, i.e., too big and too bulky (like the white Dak with green flames on this forum...not sure who's it is).

Good luck with your project and keep us posted.

It has to follow the contours of the truck more... the way you currently have it, I believe would look bad when finished...
