Thumbs up MBRP exhaust installed

I have had my exhaust installed now for about 1 week. I did take it to a local shop I have been using since highschool for the install. They did bend the pipe on the left side some to get it to fit properly. They mentioned it was very close to the rear shock when they first installed it. They then made sure the rear tips were the same distance on both sides and from the rear bumper. The comment from the shop was they liked the kit, and the sound. His father has a Dakota, they installed a Flowmaster 50 in much the same way. He said the Flow was louder, but mine has more "bark" and is also deeper. Impressions so far: When you start the truck, there is no question it sounds like a V8. Wide open throttle just plain sounds mean. Cruising on the highway on light load there is no droan at all. There is some slight drone if you are on the throttle though. Nothing I would complain about, and have had others in the truck. They said it was not bad either. I drive about 25 miles each way to work, so the exhaust note it perfect. I would not mind it being louder, but not at the expense of then getting a droan. I have 2 sound clips. The first is the truck start up at cold, and then again once it is warmed up. It does sound much deeper in person, but this was taken with a digital camera and not a camcorder.
Overall I must say I am very happy with the result.

That sounds real good, I hope mine sounds like that. How much did they charge you in labor to have this stuff installed?

Thanks for the nice comments. I will try to get a drive by clip done at some point. My butt dynaometer tells me it did gain power, especially in the mid to upper range. The throttle repsonse is greatly improved over the stock. I also do not need to get on the gas as much when crusing on the highway. There are some hills on my way to work, and the truck does not work as hard on them. The shop charged with tax about $90 to install and tweak the pipes. I bought the system new/used from another member who had his truck hit before the exhaust was ever installed.

Damn, kinda makes me wish I kept it, haha. My neighbors def wouldn't have liked me though. It's got some 'bark' to if for sure. Sounds great and I'm glad you're happy with it. Merry Christmas to you, right?
