Default trailer harness wiring

is there a cheap or easy way to hook up a trailer wiring harness if you don't have it from the factory (no tow package)?

yeah, any auto parts store sells the little "crimp on" wiring kits. Take you all of about 15 minutes to install it...

You can get the 4 pin kits for brake/turn/running lights for about $40 that use stock fittings to couple into the brake light lines. That's what I have. Clean, waterproof, can be installed/uninstalled in 20 mins. If you need electronic brakes, you'd better break out the wallet. I think the Mopar 7 wire harness kit, that comes with the tow package, is about $180.

I've been trying to buy one of the factory Dodge kits, however Dodge in their infinite wisdom stopped making several parts for the -01 Ram trucks and this is one of them. Argh.

I have that T-One connector. Works fine. Again, no brakes...just lights.

I have an ST...that did not come with a tow package. I bought the factory harness and installed it my self. (It is NOT plug and play, like advertised). You plug in the main section up close to the driver's side front wheel. Then you have to cut a wire in the harness and splice it into the existing harness. It comes with the 7-way round connector and 4-pin flat.
