Default softopper

in case anyone is interested in what the softopper looks like on our trucks. it's pretty cool in that it is retractable even with the rack. this is my truck with the softopper, easy rack, front level kit, and firestone destination m/t's 265/75/16. sorry about the bad pics, cell phone.

it all clamps to the bed rails, it can all be removed in a couple of minutes. the plates for the rack are under the long bed rails of the softopper and clamped down. site says the rack can hold 400-500 pounds, i believe it, if i grab the rack and shake it, the whole truck moves. i will try to get some pics of it collapsed tomorrow if anyone is interested.

oh ok, i know what clips you are talking about now lol the sides, front, and back, can all be rolled up and the clips hold the roll up. try and get some pics of that too. or you can go to softopper and see http://www.softopper.com/ it kinda reminds me of the old deuce and half or 5 ton canvas covers from the military. i wish the rack was just a few inches shorter as i think it would look a lot better, but oh well it works

There's gotta be a relatively easy place to cut those verticle legs of the rack to cut out 6 or 8 inches and bolt the pieces back together. Look at how the pieces fit and you should be able to do it. If not, it can be cut and welded back together for not too much money and some new flat black paint on them new joints would cover it back up. I think that if the upper part of the rack was just on top of the soft topper it would give the truck the proper look.
