I recently purchased this intake for my '05 Dakota, 3.7L. After much shopping around, there didn't seem to be too big of a selection for the 3.7L's. I finally settled on this one (which is scheduled for delivery tomorrow), but now, for whatever reason, I'm second guessing myself that I bought the wrong one? Can someone re-assure me that this one will work?

Hey man...dont even worry. Thats the same intake I have for my 4.7L. All intakes are pretty much the same...a straight tube-conical air filter which feeds to the throttle body...without the restriction of the stock airbox...You made a perfectly fine choice bro...enjoy it lol

 

I dont see why it wouldent. Even if it was for the 4.7 it would fit, so i wouldent worry about it.

 

lol thanks guys. Yea for whatever reason, I started panicking. I guess because I'm so excited to install it. This is my first real mod for this truck, so I'm anxious. (I don't know why, it's too damn cold outside to install it anytime soon anyways )

 

Haha my intake was my first mod too man...i was so anxious to install it as well...youll have a good time installing it, and im sure youll like how it looks compared to now...install isnt hard at all...get some pics when ur done bro..!!!

 

You should be alright, the 3.7l intake and the 4.7l intake are different as illustrated by the part number and product image on K&N's website but the link you posted shows you specified 3.7l. If you get it and it's the wrong one just call them up and complain and they should send you the right one.

Yeah I wouldnt worry, things look ok It does say sub-model as the 3.7 on your link. You'll be happy with the intake

 

i hope you did not pay that price. i purchased mine for the 4.7 off of ebay 212.00 with shipping. did you check on ebay at all?

 

I am right there too Super, I paid like 240 for mine shipped. Last I looked on Ebay they were just as expensive as what he paid for it. I found mine on Ebay but the seller wasnt listing them for the 240 shipped price but rather 300 plus. I questioned the seller and he gave me the list price that I seen. If anyone wants the sellers name Ill be glad to give it out. You might have to ask for it though. Its a local Pa Shop...
