First CEL today
Well, like the title says, I experienced my first CEL tonight. I installed my new K&N intake last friday night, after installation, I fired up the truck, no CEL's, no nothing. Good sign. I have driven the truck for the past week with no problems at all. Tonight I start the truck to go home from work, and... CEL. Didn't really have time to mess with it at the time, figured I'd get it home and toy around a bit. It felt fine driving home, no noticeable differences in power loss or anything. Got home and checked the obvious, loose connections, IAT sensor, everything feels alright. I'm gonna have a mechanic scan the code tomorrow and try to pinpoint the problem and fix it from there. In the meantime, if I disconnect the negative battery terminal, will that clear the code permanantly? Anyone experience this?

woah woah...
Disconnect the battery, wait 10 minutes, hook it back up. Drive around for at least 15 mins or so. The computer needs to re-learn its AF mixture and calculate accordingly. Sometimes a CIA changes it enough that when you drive it around afterwards, instead of re-learning, it says wait, this is too different and throws a code.
also a good idea double check the IAT sensor and any others that may have gotten disturbed in the process.

hehe Sounds like FirstDodge forgot to reset the pcm so the truck re-learns this new setup... easy enough to do man... just clear and it reset

Well took the truck to autozone today. I didn't fully understand what the code was for, but it sounded like the guy said something about a heating circuit? Does that sound familiar? I asked him if he thought this code would be directly related to me installing an aftermarket intake and he said no. I was a bit relieved to hear this. I'm just gonna disconnect the battery tomorrow and reset the memory and hope it doesn't come back on. It may be due time for me to invest in one of these scanners though. The closest autozone to me is close to an hour away and it's too much of a hassle to drive there if the trucks gonna throw codes. I just happen to be at my gf's house tonight in Jersey and there's an autozone less than a mile from her house so I took a trip over.
