Default Custom Exhaust Questions

So, I'm in the market for a catback. I did some searching online, but nothing really seems to suit my tastes. I know it's difficult to get an accurate sound on a youtube video, but from what I've heard, it seems that custom is the way to go for me. I have a shop locally that will fab up custom exhausts. I pretty much have my heart set on a cherry bomb pro muffler, but what size pipes would you guys recommend for a 3.7L V6? I seen 3" come up a lot, but want to be certain.
Also I've been hearing about what I guess is a larger Y pipe? I don't plan on going with a dual exhaust so more info on this would be great, possibly a link? Any info would be great, thanks guys!

dont go 3 inch on the 6 banger. 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 tops. cherry bomb is a great muffler. stay away from junkmaster, i have it and sounds terrible, it is cheaper to have a shop bend and hang the system, and most places if you pay in cash wont charge sales tax
