So far as I know the HO has different cams, pistons, and possibly some other internals.

HO has a forged crank, tri-metal bearings, bigger cams, higher flowing heads, domed pistons, rods with floating wrist pins, higher flow injectors.

Well damn that kind of sucks for me. That is an awful lot of hard work for a back yard mechanic. I plan on doing a fair amount of upgrades but nothing like that. I don't plan on pulling the engine. Thanks again guys.

You can do an awful lot with the normal 4.7, look up some of superdak05's posts. He's making some real good power on his.

welcome to the Forum Ragginbone! You may want to look into the SuperChips 3815 tuner. From what others are saying it makes huge differences in shift patterns and power. I have yet to invest, but hope to soon.

And it requires 93 octane gas just to make an extra 25hp with all those mods.
