thanks for the welcome to the forum. I just bought my truck 2 weeks ago and this is my first truck, at the age of 52. My wife proclaimed "what a cute little truck, just what I always wanted" - apparently in kindergarden they did not let her play with the trucks, because she was a girl, and she had to play with the house. I am also a member of bobistheoilguy dot com forum, and i like 5w20 oil! i run 5w25 in my Subaru and in my Dodge colt (50:50 5w20 : 5w30 lol)
I look forward to your help in getting the most out of my truck

Are you planning on trying 5w20 in your dak? I'd be interested to see how it goes. I ran 0w30 for awhile in mine but that stuff was just too expensive so I'm on Amsoil XL 5w30 now, going to change it around 7-8k and see what the lab results say about running it longer or sticking with that period.

just curious, why do you want them on the bumper? as i posted (and others.) the cross beam is the most popular without a bull bar. Like this

and they look like this all set up

that cross beam looks really neat. i'm not planning on going off road, and i like the aggressive appearance of external lamps on the bumper.

my oil is as follows: 2 parts conventional 5w20, 1 part synthetic 5w30. the base oils in 5w20 are of extraordinary good quality. 1 parts synthetic 5w30 turns it into a 23 weight, slightly more robust, but the oil still has the superior cold flow properties of the 5w20. bobistheoilguy frequently has these discussions, the modern SM oils are far superior to anything that was around 15 years ago, and the 20 weights have proven themselves. Motorcraft semi syn is especially good, and cheap, and I use the cheapest synthetic i can find - this month Napa synthetic is on for 3.29, i picked up a few cases for my stash. it is fine to blend oils, i do it all the time. i run 5w25 in my 95 Colt, 1.5l
