Thanks BArt, I already purchased it with the alternator pulley so I think I'm going to go forward and be really pristine with the install. If it was truely the cause of the problem and was wobbling wouldn't that be noticable with the hood up? Hrm...
Also, I didn't realize AiRRam sells ASP's product so there's no avoiding that. But he uses it on his 4.7 with no issue.
Jason- my key remote broke at 30,150 miles and those cost $250+ to replace, so I showed the dealer my back and am going viper alarm.

It's always possible his was a unique case, after what Badass went through though I'd probably take the "better safe than sorry" route if it were my truck. Just make sure you sleep on it before you decide.
