Well it could work...but thats a pretty tall and skinny tire for this size truck. a 265/75 on a 16 inch rim is nearly the exact same height and sidewall, and gives you a better width, and I ran them when I had no lift without rubbing on the 16x7 steel wheel.
Where did you come up with that size? Do you have these tires laying around or somthing?
I'm looking to slightly oversize. This tire is 31.7 inches tall. It will be driven on road only. Any problems? good or bad? thanks
It will fit, however it would look skinny and funny on our trucks. If you want to run a 31.7 inch tire get a 265/75R16. Perfect for our trucks in that size.
Our Dakotas used to run 235 75 R 15's. For me, a 235 is plenty of tread, and a skinnier tire is lighter, has less unsprung weight, and would have a better ride - no?
So I read the specs, and actually the 235/85 is a super heavy duty, and HEAVY tire. The 265/75 R16 is actually a lighter tire, and cheaper, so I will go with the lighter cheaper and bigger better looking tire. General Grabber makes some really good rubber.
235/85 is an E load rated tire for HD trucks. The ride will suffer alot. I looked into it also when I was upgrading tires. Went 265/70-16 and worked out much better.
