Default $277 for both lower ball joints 2005 dakota

Hey...

Well i just brought my truck in to farm and fleet and they started working on it, he called and he said "The total will be 277 $"

i thought that was just for one ball joint, but i called back yesterday to see how it was and they said that they had to order another ball joint, and i said oh your doing both sides, he said yes.

Does this seem right? 277 $ for 2 lower ball joints

my quote from dealership was 320 for on side....

If they told me over phone 277 $ theres really nothing they can do, or is there?

thanks.

They can't do anything without a signed work order and they know it.
Refuse to pay they don't have a leg to stand on.

IMO you might as well do both at the same time anyway. 277 doesnt seem CRAZY to me, but of course you could do it yourself cheaper.

$277 for BOTH Sounds cheap, DO IT before they change/correct it!
Does that include parts?
What brand jounts are they using?

I don't know if there are more than one brand available but get the best you can, (greasable if possible).

277 does not sound too bad. the parts alone are over a 100. i am trying to hunt down some moog lower ball joints and they are 90. cheaper but they have a grease fitting.

Yes, picked it up the other night, 2 lowers installed came out to around 295ish with tax.... The funny part is that they PICKED up the parts from the local dodge dealership and they were 85 bucks each (or 80) and they charged me like 90 dollars labor!

I was so surprised as soon as i left farm and fleet i called dealership to confirm, and the guy in service department told me 329$ for ONE lower ball joint installed.

So either farm and fleet just doesn't charge jack for labor (we all know what dealership mechanics get paid) Or they seriously messed up!

Sounds like a good deal to me... I dont think they are too far out there. Whats shop rates now a days? 35-45 bucks an hour (excluding dealerships) and I know if shouldn't take over 3 hrs to do both plus don't dealerships round to the nearest half days work?
