Question about my spare tire...
So I was outside today and I was looking under my sisters truck at her spare and it's a donut lol those make me laugh but anyways I decided to check mine out and it's a Goodyear Wrangler SRA just like whats on my truck, crap, but it says its a "265/65/17" and I looked in my truck in the drivers door and it says its supposed to be a like the ones that I have on it now which are "265/60/18" soooo that's definitely wrong lol. Should I talk to them about it at the dealer? Because they definitely owe me the right spare, not like it matters its just not what it says it should be. The new tread definitely looks great and I'm so happy it's not a donut lol.

Not a pro here by any means. But my spare was the exact size of my main 4. A 17" spare isn't really effective with 3 other 18" rims. I would definitely call them up. Or you could put the 17" on and rock your truck back and forth. Try and convince people they forgot to level your truck before it left the factory. That could be fun.

I guess they do not make a 18" "Steel" wheel and so you get the 17" with a taller tire to be equal in size to the 18" wheels.

I believe that all Dakota's that came from the factory with 18" Aluminum wheels (265/60/18) will have a 17" "STEEL" wheel spare (265/65/17). I have a 2008 Dakota with the Factory 18" Aluminum wheels (265/60/18) and I also have a 17 steel wheel spare with (265/65/17). They (Dodge) do not give you a 18" Aluminum wheel for a spare.

Thanks. I just thought it was weird that in my door it said "Spare: 265/60/18" which is just like my other tires. But yea I get what you're saying. Thanks. Glad I got that cleared up, I really didn't feel like telling the dealer.
Does your truck by any chance say that the spare is supposed to be "265/60/18"?
Sweet truck, btw!

What size tires do you have?

That is a correct spare. The only thing that matters is that they are the same outer diameter, and those 2 tires sizes have the same outer diameter. The reason it matters is if your truck is 4x4 or has a LSD, you HAVE to have the same tire size or you'll bind the drivetrain, cause using a smaller tire on one side would cause it to spin faster than the other.
Nice, thank you! I figured the 265 was the only thing that mattered.
I'm still wondering why my truck says my spare is what I have on my truck now lol.
Oh well, at least I got the issue cleared up.
Thanks!
