Yes, get shocks. I would let the shop aquire them if you are having them do the labor. Just don't pay any (or much) more than you would if you bought them online+shipping. I got the Rancho's. Very happy with them. Get an alignment.

They will definately charge you more labor. Installing the leveling kit is probablly a labor hour or so. If they change out each strut they will probablly hit you for an additional labor hour per side.

It is a difference of simply taking out the strut to put the spacer on top, or taking out the strut, compressing the spring, removing the strut, reasembling the strut, then installing the leveling kit and throwing it back in.

How many miles do you have on your truck?

This isn't exactly on-topic but:
My Monroe shocks arrived this week. They were drop-shipped from the manufacturer - Rancho. I guess that tells me that Monroe owns Rancho. That doen't mean that the shocks are the same but I suspect there is considerable overlap.

I'd really advise you to re-think not doing it all at the same time. There is still a bunch of labor involved just to get the spacer in there. You will thank me.

mprohr is right. If you find the right shop to do the struts, then theres a chance they might throw on the spacers for free, because it is basically NO extra labor. (but most shops would probablly try to get an extra hour out of it) If you presented the leveling kit first, and then asked them to do the struts, they would probably try to hit you with more labor.

But if you schedule a strut job, and then said "hey I have these leveling kit spacers, can you throw them in while you do the struts, it just sits on top of the strut mount plate" they may do it for the same price.

70k is getting there with the struts as it is.
