Question Fuel Consumption

I hope that everyone is enjoying the Sunday like I am. However I do have a question about fuel consumption.

I was getting over 400 km city driving with my 05 Dakota, and now getting about 100 km less with my 08. Both trucks have the same size engine v6 3.7. The only real diff is the 05 was a quad club, & the 08 is a crew cab.

Any body know why such a diff? I have added a cap to the 08, that seems to help a little, added about 20-40 km per tank.

Was the 05 2wd or 4wd, same with the 08? It may also be you are in the break in period?

Smile Re: Consumption

Both are 2WD Bolt. With the price of gas and mostly insurance was not a thought about the choice. Still happy about my Dakota

I have heard wait to break the motor in, I just got my first oil change, no improvement. It was early for the oil change by 5000 km, but the oil sensor kept telling me to "Change Oil". I did and the message stopped.

Don't want to start a new thread if i do not need to so does anyone know of a Dakota group up in Ontario? Perferably in southern Ontario. I would even come down to the USA border states.

Thanks everyone.

Wink Fuel Consumption

Really that much improvement SDSDSD 5 2 1 ratio? Well I will do that next time. I did not have to pay for the first one, so I will try it what can it hurt.

CanadianDodge, I am in TO I have friends that will come to a gathering. Not Dodge drivers, but will still come. As the old line goes: "build it and they will come".
