Hi guys, I'm just visiting form the 3rd gen rams, i would like to know why there is no hemi dakota, if anyone knows. dakotas seem to get everything else that the rams have. thanks

 

It's true, the Rams have Hemis just so the Dak guys will still have ***** envy

 

Compensate? Maybe. I've got a 4.7L, I wouldn't know.

 

LOL! It's a shame they killed the Neon. I'd love to see a RWD Hemi Neon while you Dakkers still haven't got a hemi.

 

There is already a Hemi in a Dakota, and has been for awhile. I'll see if I can find it. I forget what forum the guy posted it in. Took him awhile to do it.

 

OK, this has been bugging the crap out of me but my mom (yup my mommy) came to visit for our daughters high school graduation. She was telling us about a Dodge Dakota her husband totaled (in 2006) because of a massive front end failure during a tight corner in the mountains.

Anyway, she said it had a Hemi in it. I said, "nope, couldn't have, Dakota's never came with a Hemi in it". I asked her what year it was and she said it was a 2005. She said they bought it from the dealer almost brand new (had about 1000 miles on it). The guy that owned it before them had it "Special Ordered" with a Hemi in it from Dodge. She said it had a "Hemi" badge on it and it had crazy amounts of power.

I still didn't believe her but my brother, who rode in it swears up and down it was a Hemi Dakota. He said when they popped the hood he counted 16 spark plugs.

Were you able to special order a Dakota with a Hemi from Dodge?
