Default Monroe vs Rancho?

Hey guys I dont post much up on here (more of a lurker) very often just have a few questions. I'm planning adding some shocks I was wondering is there any difference between the monroe vs rancho? I have a 07 and i noticed that the rancho state that it only supports the 05 and 06 but i thought the front end was the same from the 05-Present. Also what is a good option for the rear? Thanks a ton guys

Welcome to the sight. The guys around here seem to like the Ranchos.

Thanks for the quick response blown287, yeah i have did alot of searching on the forum and have noticed that. Thats what i am planning on ordering for all the way around. I was just wondering if they will fit an 07 because the site only say 05 and 06. Im wondering if it was like the trialmaster kit where it says it only fits an 05 but it fits all. Thanks

Default My input

Hi Guys,

Just noticed this post and just wanted to provide input to this topic... I have a 2006 QC and had the Ranchos installed last week. Let me just say, as many have previously, these shocks are a huge improvement.

Not sure what the difference is, if any, from the Monroes... you'll have to inquire at Tenneco (if they will talk to you) or a friendly distributor for details.

However, due to the PITA factor in changing them out I wanted to make sure I had the "best" upgrade possible as I don't really want to do it again anytime soon. In researching the shocks out the difference in price was not significant and went for the Ranchos. I'm not sorry I did...

I believe in the old saying "you get what you pay for"...

Keep us posted on what you decide and how it goes!

Thanks!

BDG

I don’t know what the difference is either. I was told by some on the site and one distributor that they are pretty much one in the same. The Monroe’s are the premium line that are specked for our trucks and the only shock listed for the 07. I'm though pretty positive that there isn't one thing different of the suspensions from 05 through 07. The fact is even the 08 and 09 is the same suspension with slightly stiffer factory shocks and front coil springs and thats it. I went with the Monroe’s just because they list them for my 07.

I have an 07 QC 4X4 and I installed the Rancho's a few months ago and love them.
The suspension is the same from 05-07 they changed the springs for 08+.
hope this helps
