Tuner Worth It?
So I want to add some performance to my truck, and I've heard getting a flashpaq will wake it right up. But I just can't justify spending $380 on a little box, unless I know it's really worth it. I'm on a very tight budget. Y'alls opinion?

I thought the flashpaq mainly had prebuilt settings and really only allowed you to change transmission settings. The prebuild settings were for like, mileage, higher octane performance, and towing. Dunno how detailed it let you get in those, like, to compensate for having exhaust or intake, or better yet, when you have a cam.
If it lets you tune timing and fuel curves for cam installs.... i'll be picking one up like tomorrow.

Yes, the tuner is worth it. I datalogged a 2 second increase in 0-60 time from the stock tune to the 91 octane tune. (with 93 octane)
I posted the pics in some thread, but I cant remember the name of it for the life of me.
I also posted a vid of setting up a tune, that will show you everything you are able to change...

If you go to the flashpaq site, it tells you that the tuner will perform better with an intake and exhaust.
you cant custom tune with it...
Depending on the cam you go with, you wont NEED a tune. the HO cam doesnt need a tune, the 206 doesnt either, but will perform a lot better with on. Check out air rams cam section, he has a description of the cams and if they need tunes or not.

i have spent a hell of a lot more for a little box, but she only comes around every few months, the tuner is worth it just to change the shift points. i have the sct tuning now for my nitrous, way betterer, than the flashpaq.
