Default Thanks to buybrakes.com

Hi All,

Hope I'm not violating any rules here, but wanted to give a big thanks to buybrakes.com for their time, expertise and being overall good guys. They have been extremely helpful in providing input in configuration of my brake set up (2006 QC 2WD).

As an FYI, here is the set up I went with... I was originally going to go with an EBC set up, but here you go:

1. Powerslot Cryo rotors
2. Hawk LTS pads
3. Raybestos rear shoes
4. Goodridge SS brakelines
5. Ford HD brakefluid
6. L3 caliper/drum paint

I have not yet installed the parts yet, but look to do so next week sometime. If anyone is interested I can provide some feedback on how the setup works.... Please note that I didn't buy everything from buybrakes.com so I wanted to give them kudos!

Hi Guys,

Going from memory... I'll have to pull my paperwork for actuals

1. Rotors: $145.00 each
2. Pads: $75.00 set
3. Shoes: $80.00 set
4. Brakelines: $150.00 set (3 lines, I believe)
5. Fluid: $10.00
6. Paint: $35.00

Yes, the brakelines are braided stainless steel... here is a link describing them from Autoanything:

http://www.autoanything.com/Brands/S...cleYearID=2006

No, I don't believe that there is any legal requirement for manufacturers to use braided lines

I had warped front rotors in my 04 QC and went to the stealership to price 4 rotors and pads to do the job myself. $1,200.00 they wanted for stock parts!! I got on Ebay (big fan) and found cross drilled rotors and performance pads for all four corners for $280.00 delivered to my door (canadian $$) Installed them yesterday and what a difference!
