tranny cooler lines

Default tranny cooler lines

any one know which line comming out of the trans. is the hot side (top or bottom)? im trying to install a trans. temperature gauge and to T-off the line out of the trans appears to be the only way, other than trying to mount it in the pan...

Top is hot line, crap flows down hill.

The output line from the torque converter is on the bottom of the radiator/passenger side

which lline gets tapped for an aftermarket trans cooler? the top of the radiator line of the bottom line?

If your gonna be installing an aftermarket cooler, then you will be bypassing the stock one completely...meaning both lines would have to be moved...

Not always. Cold weather could lead to some pretty cold tranny fluid circulating through that tranny that way? Back when I was installing them we would run the fluid through the aux cooler, then the rad. Figured this would help cool the radiator in warm weather, as well as warm the fluid in really cold temps? FWIW

Umm...I guess....I don't live in a 'cold' weather area so the thought never occured...but you do have a point...

i live in florida.

this trans cooler is to be used in sequence. you have to tap the line going to the top of the radiator. i pulled off one line and watched for which way the fluid was flowing.
