Default Hi all, this site is amazing, BUT MY TRuck Has a Vibration that the Dealer cannot Fix

My 2006 Mitsubishi Raider 4.7 4x4 Duro Cross is giving me the Challenge of the year. I bought it used in May this year with 21,000 on the clock and the drive home was the scariest ride I had in a truck. The truck has a unstable ride when you hit a bump, Like an Extra Vibration, And a Vibration between 55-65 mph, though most noticable at 57-64. This Happens only when driving Not while appling the brakes. Getting any dealer to work on this problem is like asking the government Who really killed Kennedy, And all I hear Is "We cannot duplicate the Customers Issue at this time". The truck has new Struts, Tierod ends,Lower Ball Joints, front drive axle on both sides And rear Shocks. A very Solid Alignment As well as new tires. I tried a different set of wheels But the problem Still remains. I went up the ladder But the Corporate Office MMNA is not interested in solving the issue's, So I guess I have To give them back there truck. I have been In touch with a Forensic Automotive Tech and He has aknowledged the problem that the dealers and Area parts Mgr said they could not feel, But have Changed the parts I mentioned Above. So Now I need the community's help, If anyone here on this form has experienced this problem or is still dealing with this problem "Please email me or even call me with Any of your complaint's to Dodge or Case Number's, Service repair invoice or Song and dance from your Dealer's. Also please know that I contacted Chrysler directly and asked if they had a fix or have had any problems reported on this issue and they said No, It's the first they have heard anthing like this. I feel this is definately a cover up and the dealer's and the manufacturer is not interested, So i'm left with no other option but to Fight. So Again Please Any Information You can supply Or give me to fight this giant and bring them to there knee's Will be very helpful and Maybe help you at the same time by maybe getting Chrysler to take responsability for this and extending every warranty that has since ran out. From what I have read on line this is a long running problem that never got it's proper day in court. Thank you very much and forgive me for the long newbie post. But I really need All the Info I can gather on this to fight it properly. Sincerely Michael Heard, Contact me by email : b7avant@aol.com or call me at (951) 488-4295. I'm in California so If anyone Is local and have the problem maybe we can meet or compare problems, or dealer Stories over this problems. Thanks again.

HI,

I have faced the same issue you are having with my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan.
The issue was that anytime I press the gas on speeds over 40Kph, the would start shaking like if the weels where about to take off.
It only happens while accelerating.
If this is your issue, I suggest you replace your CV Joints as quick as you can. Since I did not replace the CV joints on time it created a much more bigger problem as my CrossMember bacem broken to the half due to the excesive vibration/shanking.
I replaced the CV joints that the shaking came to an end, however the damage was already done and in less than a week the crossmember broke. So I am with out the van again until I get a replcement one.
Hope this helps i your quest for a smooth ride.

That would be a 3rd Gen fascistfaction... and Ill be glad to move it for ya 06raider, welcome to the site!

I am guessing its the rear axle/brakes TSB, if you pull the rear tire off the truck and check the numbers, I bet you'll find its the TSB... now the only thing is I dont recall the actual config of Numbers that are bad.... someone will chime in I am sure...if I remember it or find it Ill post it up! Good luck!

Yeah, the brake TSB won.t work for me as I have the larger rear Axle. Plus the Frt and rr brakes has been done while the previous owner had it. But I still Keep trying to get them to take this matter to heart but they think I'll just let it pass, Wrong, I'M not that weak of a person. This will be for all the owners that had warranty issues and got denial or stonewall'd, And dis-customer service.

Here is the TSB. I have the 3.92 rear end too.......and this applied to me. So don't be detered. Pay close attention to the "M" designation in the number stamp. One side of mine started with an M (not ended with an M as the TSB stated). The other side had no M at all. Either way, it looks like you've done your due diligence. If this is not the problem, the only things I can think of are unbalanced driveshaft, bad CV joint, or bent hub.

Oh yeah, if the new struts are factory replacements, they are cr@p, replace them with Ranchos or Monroes.
