Default trans cooler pressure?

anyone know what kind of pressure is in the cooler lines? reason im asking is i am trying to install a trans temp sensor, and the only reasonable way seems to be to cut the rubber line before the radiator and install a "T". do you think a barbed fitting will work, or is it going to blow the hoses off

ya i toook that apart today thinking it might have had a pipe thread into the radiator, like the trans, but it dont, but i have a about a 6in. long rubber hose from the radiator to the hard line, that might make for a good place to splice in.

if installing a trans temp gauge, best place is to tap into the trans oil pan. that is where my sensor is located. takes some time, have to take the tranny pan off, drill a hole, put in the sensor and epoxy it in place. ( really let it cure so you don't get leaks) Then run the wire up to where you want it. i think in the pan is where you really want to know what the temp is anyway.

The pan would be great but extreamly good chance of a leak. That would concern me all the time, I just couldn't do it.

let the epoxy cure and no problem. I have had mine for 2 years not and no problem (knock on wood) it is in the pan that is where the gauge was designed to go. If you put it anywhere else, what good is it actually doing? you can get either a high reading or a low reading depending on where you put it. in the pan, you get a actual reading of what the tranny is at.
