Does anyone have this information?

I am looking for the extended and compressed height of our rear shocks (2wd or 4x4 doesnt make a difference).

I have the oem shocks and they measure, out, eye to eye 17" compressed, 24" extended, yet when I look on Rancho's website, they claim compressed is 12.5" and extended is 19".

Am I measuring incorrectly?

Does anyone have the official numbers?

Thanks, appreciate it. I am not 100% sure how they are supposed to be measured. Ive been after a set of Monroe Load Levelers forever, and Monroe never plans to make them.

However...

The 2wd Ranger has load levelers available, but there listed as 2" taller compressed and extended. (then our shocks are listed)

The shock eyes top and bottom match our shock eyes too. They should bolt right in.

What I am trying to figure out is if these slightly taller shocks would bottom out before the rear bump stop contacts the axle.

I am guessing probablly not, but if they somehow did, I wanted to know because I could probablly easily put a larger bump stop on, or lower it somehow.

I am 90% sure that the bump stop would hit way before max compression with the ranger load levelers. There specs are so close, im suprised that we arent sharing the same part number.

 

The 06-07 TRX-4 rear factory shocks where >1” longer extended for that stated 1" height in the brochure. Even though that was a cheese way of getting there it worked. Since I had installed the Monroe’s on all fours the truck is perfectly level and I'm liking it. If I was planning to keep her I would install body spacers for a level 3” lift because it’s a crime how low these trucks sit as a four-by.

 

you are measuring correct . mine are 15" and 24" for oem and monroe's. 2wd

 

general rule when buying long travel shocks is a really small compressed number and a really big extended number
