YES, unless you use some super-duper royal purple or something that specificially says it contains the LSD friction modifier..
Mobil 1 synthetic also does not require the additive, but I still added some extra to mine. Just read the back of the bottle to see if it supplements needed for LSD.
Request a build sheet from a dealership, or ask Chrysler for one online. Another way would be to raise the back of your truck up with a jack and spin the back wheel/wheels. Or I have been told this info along with your gear ratio on the rear end is on a sticker inside your glovebox, but my truck did not.
Get creative! I know there are probably a couple ways that I am not even thinking about. (And I didn't even mention google!)
I belive the "pumpkins" are shaped differently with different bolt patters. The open diff is a round 10 bolt, the LSD has angles and 12 bolts....I think.

Not quite, what you're thinking of is the difference between the 9.25" and 8.25" rear ends, I have the 9.25 and no LSD, I believe it's possible to have a LSD in the 8.25 as well but that one I'm not sure about.
1. Did you use 75w-140, or is 75w-90 O.K?
2. My manual says that capacity is less than 2 liters; how much did you put in?
3. My differential is limited slip. Is the "additive" a must?
Thanks.
1. 75-140 according the book. 90 will get you better performance and fuel economy, but shorter life expectancy.
2. 2.1 liter on mine. Just enough you have to buy 3 bottles.
3. Royal purple had the additive built in. Just read the bottle of whatever you purchase.
I used 4 ounces of the additive and used almost 2 liters of 75w-140 synthetic. No problems. My manual said 1.66 liters of gear oil, but it was a little more than that. I added gear oil until I could touch it when I put my finger in the fill hole.
