Default Spark Plug Info!!!

Whats the latest on spark plugs for the 4.7 V8? I haven't read much on them for awhile.

Are Autolite 3923's still the choice.

I am approaching 30000 miles and figure I should probably get them changed. It seems to run OK, but could maybe run better.

I was going to change them at 20000 miles but my dealer told me I would be asking for trouble if I didn't use Champions for Chrysler products, Autolite for Fords and AC for GM. He said my "service engine" light would come on. I asked him how many have had this problem but he couldn't answer that because everybody used Champions. Sounds like a con job to me.

They want $90 labor to change them, so if I put in Autolite's and have problems I get to pay another $90 to go back to Champion's.

Decisions, Decisions!!!!!!!!

I put the autolite's in myself. I haven't had any issues nor do I know of anyone else on here running autolite's of having issues.

My guess is the dealer was tryin to pull a fast one on you.

Other guys have gone with the NKG's too. Not many but a few.

I'm sure some others can put some input in on this, as well as pass on some links to past forums on the spark plugs.

Good Luck!

the autolites are the right choice, i use to run the 3923 plug, but had to go to the 3922 because of the nitrous, forget the platnums, they dont work well in the magnum engine, get your plugs at walmart for 20.00

HO engine I went with the colder Autolite 3922 and like it better then the 3923. Only the right back last plug is a bit of a bitch and only if you use a torque wrench for the install. 20fp

I don't know if platinum plugs are crap in our engine since mine came with platinum on one side of the engine...but I do know that the 3923s haven't performed any better than the stock ones and could be performing worse.

Since I've put them in the truck will cut off on cold starts. I'm not ready to place the blame on the 3923 plug but I will try a different plug next time.

I don't know if you have the HO or not.
HO motors dont like Platinum, or Autolite 3923.
HO motors do like Autolite 3922 or Iridium plugs. I have NGK Iridium X plugs. They do well.

I would like for someone to try the E3 Diamondfire plugs.....how bout you?
