On nice smooth asphault, my LSD HO Automatic will put down about 20'....without brake torque. On concrete, no spin. just launch.

How can you tell if your truck is AWD????
the on the 4wd **** it will say 4WD, 4WD lock, and 4WD low, for the AWD, and the non AWD will have a 2WD, 4WD lock, and 4WD low. at least thats how the 08's are

Yeah thats the same for the older ones too

My 4.7 can squawk em with out the SC, but not to far or atleast I havent tried to lay a long patch. Its a one wheel squeal so dont hate Even if they dont make noise you can hear the tread catching hell. Now with the SC its pretty easy to break it lose with all the above

They do seem to have different TM than the previous 4.7, which suuuuucks. My 05 would literally smoke them, anytime, anyplace. It was a 6 spd though.

My 08 is also AWD like yours, which I didn't want, but it's the only one the dealer could find in blue. So it was either that or have another black truck, and I didn't want that since that's what my 05 was. With this one, the ONLY time I can get aaaany wheel spin is when making a right or left turn leaving from a dead stop (like from a stop sign or light) where one of the rear tires gets unloaded. And that's only now that the tires have 15,000 miles on them. I did notice right away though that the new 4.7 really winds up compared to the older models. This one almost has the same sound and feel as something like a Mustang 4.6 or the older Camara/Firebird 305's. It's just got a 'racy' sound to it when you tromp it.

I'd LOVE it if there was a way to turn off the torque management. This pig would be tons of fun then. At least I can still have some fun with it when it snows. :/

The 4.7 at 235hp is 15hp less then the 5.9 in the old R/T Daks. The 260hp HO is 10hp over the 5.9 at 250hp. Weird that the Dak 5.9 or 360cid had 5 more HP than the Rams did at 245hp. My Dak is the HO and at 260 hp it is a joke. I had a 72 340 Duster at 245hp that would burn the tires off the rims. Just this morning on my way in a new looking Toyota 4-runner SUV blew me away at two lights. I even turned off the AC and put it into tow/hull at the second light and he still took me. I wanted to craw into a hole. So burning tires is more like a couple of chirps with my 3:92 LSD rear. Believe “I won't be fooled again”.

sorry, but im a newb to the whole burnout thing. I know that just by punching the gas (in automatic) my truck wont sit there and spin the tires. aside from having a manual transmission, how would someone do this?
