Default New Tires

I am new to the forum, so sorry if this has already been covered. I have a stock 2wd Dakota and it is time for me to get new tires. It has 245/70-16s on it right now. I was wondering what is a good size tire that might fill up the wheel well a little better. Thanks for all the help guys.

I think you could even get some 265/75-16's under there. 31.6" tire versus 30.6" for 70 series versus 29.5" for stock.

Somebody on "another site" put on 265/75/16 's, and had a slight rub, so be careful.

Tire choice also makes a difference. I had Firestone Destination A/Ts 265/75/16 on for a year and a half with slight rub. I recently put on Goodyear Authority A/T 265/75/16s and I had to do some trimming to get out "most" of the rubbing. In addition, I have a TM 1.5" leveling kit...

I managed to fit 265/75/r16 all terrain haven't had a problem with rubbing (unless the back suspension has been completely flexed out lol) but it was good choice to fill the wells

Does it matter that most of you guys are running 4x4 and my truck is only 2wd?

hmm i would think the 2wd sit a little lower but im not entirely sure and it may also depend on the tread a more aggresive tread hangs out a little more which may result in some minor rubbing but again im not 100% on this maybe one of the more expirenced dak owners can confirm or deny this
