How are the stock tires in snow?

Ok, I have to admit that I was just a tad wrong about these stock tires.

On the hard packed stuff that's a bit icy, the rear end likes to come out under braking. And in 2wd it can be a bit scary.

However, for the past two days we probably got about 17" of snow which is the most snow this truck has seen yet. The drifts are anywhere between a few inches to a couple of feet deep. Tonight I had to go get my son from his friends house (who just so happens to live down a very long (couple of miles) dirt road. This road is not plowed....at all. I was completely surprised how well these tires did in the deep stuff in 4wd. I was pushing snow out of the way with the front bumper. It was coming up over the fenders and hitting the windshield. But the truck kept going. Some of the stuff was so deep I just didn't think it was going to make it. But it did.

So, in the deep stuff these tires did admirably. On the hard packed, icy stuff, you really have to watch it. I still want to swap them out for something a little more aggressive though.
