05 Dakota Double Din Dash Possible?

I don't know about your Bestbuy, but mine said they could do it. It would just require cutting the bezel to make it fit I was told. They literally cut it right in front of me and trimmed it so it would be flush on the top and bottom. They did not use the metal sleeve that goes over the radio. Instead, they used the two black plastic pieces and just screwed it into the existing factory radio holes.
You can sort of see where the end of the volume **** cuts were. Without those black side pieces, you would have holes that could be filled with ABS plastic like Eric suggested.
I was ultimately happy because it was very flush and I did not have those ugly volume **** cuts showing.

Blund, if you're going to pay a couple hundred to have it done I would look around for a smaller audio shop in the area that does things like custom sub boxes, someplace that works with fiberglass. A good shop should be able to cut and fiberglass it so it looks like the radio was made to fit exactly in there, you would need to paint it though.

Hmm....that's interesting. I went out to the Crutchfield.com site and sure enough, the Double Din's fit my 2008 with factory stereo. I was thinking it was a Din and 1/2 or Din and 3/4 but nope. Woohoo! I was worried I'd have to use a Single Din but this is muuuuuch better. I know what I'm doing next summer.

I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd give this a shot.
Does anyone own a MyGig for an 05 Dakota? I see that Altai does.
Can someone point me in the right direction with which unit I'll need? They are as low as $500 on ebay. Also, I noticed that certain models don't require you to purchase the locpick add-on. Can someone clarify this for me?
Is there also a feature list? I can't seem to locate that in google.
Last but not least, why is this thing so popular and amazing? I currently have a Kenwood DNX5120...but I figure I can sell it for $300+ on ebay. So, the loss isn't too great.
Maybe you guys can tell me if it's not even necessary to get.. I mostly use my radio for ipod/iphone/gps/backup camera/sub and the radio if there's a passenger.

This seller says you don't need the locpick adaptor.. That sounds good I think.
