2005 Towing Power Loss
CEL's are Check Engine Light codes.
I tow a 20' pontoon. pushing the 3000 lb weight in the adirondacks and lose speed going up the steep grades and the LONG gradual grades. Speed makes a big difference. If I try to keep it in the 70MPH range, I am constently flooring it and running 4000 rpm or more. I can comfortablly keep the 55 MPH and be under 3 grand. the issue isn't that I'm pulling something heavy... The pontoon is a parachute behind the truck. i have also pulled my brothers rinker (26 footer, full gas) coming in at approx 6000. Really no issues with that. the bow is more aerodynamic. Just my experience.
