looking for performance tire
I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT with the 16 inch rim. I want to go a more performance oriented. I have A/T tires on there now. and I love the tread ware on them. lol. I have over 40,000 miles on the tires. I didn't get around to having the tires rotated. After 40k on them the rear are a little bald but would do well for front tires for the next 20k. the front two tires are almost new looking. However I have flat spots in the front two tires. they ride like crap. and are noisy. I spent a lot of money on sound deading material. And its gotten rid of alot of road noise. and also makes the exhaust noise less. but the tires create alot of noise. I am looking for cheap tires that would give some decent road traction. I have a heavy foot. but I only have a 3.7L with an intake and exhaust. also have some electrical upgrades to support a heavy audio system. Running 15volts when heavy current draw. But I'm looking for some cheap tires to run on the truck. Even if its a lower side wall than the factory side walls. and I do have a second question. I am having my trans replaced today. SOmething was wrong with it. but did anyone with a 3.7 or even the 4.7 have any issues with the tranny. I had a hesitation at a dead stand till about 5 mph. after I started moving the power would kick in. it was as if the torque converter wouldn't engage alot of power till I started moving. once I got moving it kicked in and I would launch. just seeing if maybe it had something to do with my trans and it would be fixed today? thanks for any help you can give!
its 2wd. sry for the ramble. i'm looking for a street tire. for cheap. I have A/T tires on it now and prefer a different ride comfort. something thats more for ride comfort. *(fiance had spinal surgery and I need a better ride than what I'm getting now). so looking for street performance. its a 3.7L v6 2wd. SLT. extended cab.

hmm, so your looking for a comfortable ride then? I have what I would call street tires, low profile, Z rated, super grippy... they dont have the side wall to ride very nice...
For a nice riding tire for cheap, I have read that the general grabbers are good for the money.
btw, I am running TOYO proxes 4's... planning on upgrading to some nittos next spring.
