Default Cold Air Induction

Just to refresh your memory, I have a 2005 4.7V8.

I'm thinking about installing a CAI system. It looks like Airaid might have the one I am looking for. They list one that just replaces the air box but not the tube going into the engine. It lists for $209

I'm guessing more air will make an improvement on the power, however is there a possibility of snow getting up to the air cleaner and messing it up?

Anybody have one of these on your 4.7?

Any pros and cons will be appreciated.

I wouldnt worry too much about it, they are similiar to the KNs with the element being oiled slightly to hinder water and debris...

Airaid offers three different set-ups for our trucks, the drop-in, the CAI kit, and then the one you speak of.

I dont have Airaid, but I am sure someone with one will chime in.

I have the same motor you have and got the chrome intakes filter and tubes off of ebay. cost me 35 shipped. can't say I'm disapointed in it. When the cone wears out, getting a K & N to replace it... not planing on that for a long while though... and you can configure it different ways.

With the stock airbox
