I will probably upgrade to a 4th gen Ram when done with the Dak. I am running out of room now. 3 car seats in the back do fit, but baby #4 is on the way. Eek. I prefer a true body on frame design as you can make way more changes if you want to.
Hate me or not, I would STRONGLY consider buying something like this if they make it. One of the biggest determining factor for me though would be the cargo capacity of the bed. It's gotta be big enough to carry my quad or it's a no go.

Yep, I am right with ya. If they change to a unibody design, I am going full sized for sure. Its a nice look, but for a truck unibodies are ghey! If they made a diesel version of our trucks I would have had one by now and I would def look at an RT 3rd Gen
but i dont think we will ever see an r/t (or srt for that matter) because that would mean that we got a hemi, and then it would pull sales away from the ram (people who wanted the hemi for towing, im sure the dak w/ a hemi would be close to the same tow capacity as a ram w/ a hemi)

No the Dak is limited by its chassis strength and weight at this point for towing and not its engine. You can't tow something much over 7000 pounds without far exceeding the maximum tongue weight and pulling capacity of a class 3 hitch not to mention the rear suspension and frame of our truck. I suspect the reason the new Ram's have such a low towing capacity compared to the new Silverados and F150 has to do with their new coil suspension. It has the engine on the other two trucks but it doesn't have the chassis stability and strength.

I hear you man, its aggrivating the Hemi went into everything other than the Dakota, lol. Rams, Durangos, Chargers, Chally, Jeeps, lol but not the Dakota.
Dusty, just my putting the Hemi into his Dakota was running 13s, lol.
Well them not making Dakotas anymore is not a done deal, I work for Chrysler and we had a meeting with the guy that heads up the Dakota line, dont ask his name because I have forgot already meeting like these put me to sleep LOL.. The bottom line is he is going to do his best to keep Dakota around so we shall see what happens.. Slick

I say this in all seriousness, if you run into him again ask him to drop by in here. The guys that buy these would love to offer our input on a possible new Dakota.
I loved the 06-07 Night Runner, RT, and Sport packages. If they were to add a performance package Dakotas would sell. As always, Dodge is more concerned about Ram sells than making customers happy, lol.
