body lift

i have been looking to add more lift for awhile and it seems a true will never come out. so can some one give me a low down on a body lift i've heard rumors that we have to change motor mounts and other things. how hard is it to do alone? how much is a kit and whats a good one. who sells gap guards? thanks guys i would like to do a 3'' one since the ones ive seen look good

performance accessories sells everything, and i think you can only get a 3in. i just put mine on a couple weeks ago, with two of us, i think it took about 4 hours, but that was without messing with bumpers. no motor mounts but you do have to violate your core support, there are a lot of things in the instructions that you dont have to do that will save a lot of time

that looks great! i love your bumper and truck. what is the basic steps to a body lift?

the steps for the body lift... destroy the core support, lift the body and bed 3in up, remove the ground strap on the right side of engine, and do the steering shaft extention, IIRC thats all you have to do, the rest of the instructions you can ignore, thats what i did it anyway...

haha ignoring instructions right on good to know I hope to get one done this winter as well as the level kit still sitting in the closet

a coulpe other bits, you will have to remove the top half of the fan shroud, then just put a heavy piece of cardboard between the fan and rad. instead of removing the fan, and when you lift off the frame, go just high enough to squeez the blocks in, and everything else will be fine, and what ever weapon you choose to destroy the core support with---make sure you protect the a/c condensed realy well from it, or you will be relpacing it, i found that out the hard way
